Swallows and Snowflakes

Never thought I'd see Swallows dodging snowflakes but about 10 of them were doing just that around Harold Park Lake and Park Dam this morning.

HPL was the busiest of the two spots being more sheltered than the dam which was getting it full on from the north west.

It sported c32 Herring & a few LBB gulls with the odd BH thrown in. c14 Tufted Duck, 1 Goosander, pr Greylag ditto Mute Swan and the inevitable Coots & Moorhens.

The Dam was bereft: 1 Pied Wagtail ditto GCG, 3 Meadow Pipit, 3/4 Coot, 1 Moorhen.

At the top of Cock Hill Lane nearer home I bumped into Chris Rhea, his sister Di was close by. Chris gave an impromptu rendition of  The Road To Hell. I muttered no need to rub it in and plodded on.
