Cold Edge Dams

A pleasant day for walking in the sunshine with a soft breeze. I had to shed a layer possibly for the second time this year. I reckon any moving birds had shot through earlier in the morning as I never saw a single chat etc.

1 Common Sandpiper ditto Curlew. A couple of f Tufted with a crèche of 8 recently fledged young uns.
1 Whitethroat still vocal in short bursts. 4 noisy Greenfinch, 3/4 Goldfinch, 4 vocal Reed Bunting. Breeding Swallows.
A few Linnet.

The small dam on the right side of Haigh Cote is virtually obscured by excavation machinery but I still managed to get me a Little Grebe.
2/3 WW throughout the walk heard calling only.

Now here’s a task for the two people who read my blog, you have a choice:
Find a Roller in Shibden Valley or find a Postbox in Halifax beyond the main Royal Mail building. You can if so desired travel to Wainstalls where a kickass letter box stands out like an ex politician 😂.
