Twite Remembered

DW visited Teesside and sent me some great photos of birds we can only dream about here in Barrensville. However he did get a species that used to breed locally many years ago; Twite.
  

I remember them on Soil Hill in the early 60s (that's 1960s not 1860s). 
Here is an extract from John Mather's The Birds of Yorkshire - 1985 edition:

200 at Denholme Clough on 29th August 1965 and 160 on 12th September 1967; 300 at Booth on 22nd April 1967.
