Low Moor to Horton Bank

Birding was hard work this morning in a biting cold E'ly blow with light smatterings of the white filth that falls from the skies.
15 Lapwing were in the top field at Jackson Hill Lane.

Harold Park Lake - I gave up half way round as nothing out of the ordinary came into view. A Grey Heron was hiding among the bushes on the island.
Park Dam - 4 Goosander, ditto Cormorant one of which had obvious Sinensis characteristics. 2 Mute Swan and a few Coot and Moorhen were present along with several small gull sp. and a couple of immature phase Herrings. Also 5 Blackbird, few House Sparrows, Dunnock

Horton Bank CP also held 2 Herring Gull, possibly 3CY jobs, in with several small sorts. Also a drake Tufted, 2 Mute Swan, few Coot & Moorhen. A Little Grebe was heard calling from the larger reedbed.

DW reports a fair number of Fieldfare in with a Starling flock in fields at the top of Taylor Lane.
