Queensbury to Mixenden Res

There was a movement of several scattered Meadow Pipit on a broad front from Fox Hill up to and including Soil Hill this morning. Only other bird on SH top was a Common Gull. Swallows were fewer but again widely spread around the Ogden area.

Ogden Res: 2 GC Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 7 LBBG & c22 BHG. 1 each GSW & Green Woodpecker, 3 WW, few Goldfinch, 1 Pied Wagtail. A Kestrel posed obligingly in the woods.

The walk along the golf course bottom produced 1 Reed Bunting, 4 Stonechat and a Wren in with them briefly.

As on the previous visit, once again the route along Hunter Hill bottom was busy. 1 Skylark and a handful of Meadow Pipit were overshadowed by c55 Linnet, c13 Goldfinch and a multitude of Swallows incl. juveniles.

Mixenden Res: 1 each Grey Wagtail & Moorhen. 1 Common & 2 BHG Gull, 3/4 Swallow, 2 House Martin & the Tufted Duck.
