Back Up The Hill

This morning the tedium didn't remain constant being broken by encounters with 2 new birds and two other birders.

A Sand Martin flying around the quarry was my first for the year. This was followed by a brief exchange of words with JL at a distance. Rest assured the words were polite and civil.

The second bird was not a migrant but my first encounter with a Song Thrush for the hill. It was singing loudly from the bushes at the bottom of the N slope.

Also present were 5 Whitethroat, 4 WW, 2 Pied Wagtail, 1 Reed Bunting & the pond Moorhen. Usual Larks, Meadow Pipits, Lapwings & Curlew although less noisy today.

The Little Owl in Taylor Lane showed better; perched on a post prior to a brief flight then settling on another post.
35 Rook and a couple of Swallow seen throughout plus the Linnets. Old Guy Road disappointed yet again.

Had an interesting chat with CK the first in quite a few years I recall.
