Soil Hill to Mixenden Again

Grey skies with a cold E'ly breeze. 1 singing Skylark on the hill top. However down at the bottom were c32 Skylark moving around continually for about 5 minutes before settling and remaining silent. There was a stranger in among them; I heard it call twice briefly but had no chance of id.
c62 Lapwing and a pr Curlew also down here. A Grey Heron flew across > NE. A Moorhen on the pond.

Ogden Res not worth a mention waterwise. The trees threw up 1 each GSW, Jay, Blackbird & a bunch of Chaffinch. A single Curlew was in Back Lane. 1 Jay & a laffing Green Woodpecker at the golf course.

c18 Curlew were feeding in the field adjacent to the buildings at Stod Fold. This picture was taken at great distance employing the digital range focus. Not very often I get to qualify such an excuse for crap photography.

Mixenden Res: 1 Moorhen & many Gulls.
