Soil Hill to Mixenden

The cold blast kept me off Soil Hill top, I went along Ned Hill track instead. Here were 2 Herring Gull and a couple of smaller jobs. I got my first Grey Partridge for the year and also a couple of Skylark.

A couple of Curlew were at Back Lane. Ogden woodland types were lying low and the Gulls were down to c25 in total which incl a pr adult Herring & ditto LBB.

The Curlew count at Stod Fold has risen to 30 birds. A Green Woodpecker was chortling here.

I'm losing it. At Mixenden I was constantly looking at a large pale Gull but couldn't be bothered using the bins. Then after I left, DJS txts me the prescenc of Iceland Gull!
A pr Ring-necked Parakeet flew across the road calling loudly.
